Barn Conversion to 5 Star Holiday Cottage – Devon

I was honoured when Angela and Brett invited me to put forward design and product ideas for their latest barn conversion. With this being their 4th conversion, Angela and Brett had a clear brief to ensure they maintained their five star rating for Amberleigh Cottages.

“From the moment we started dealing with Nicky and Liberty Furnishings we found their service to be exceptional. Nicky listened to our requirements, suggested options and advice and also arranged delivery to comfortably meet our deadline.”

The first of their requirements was quality with a timeless and elegant style. This had to be
combined with robustness for reliability yet a design that maintained the light and airy feel of the space. They wanted the interior to compliment, not detract from the outstanding beauty of their location.

The large dining table with a solid oak top took four people to put in position. The table which comfortably sits up to eight people is enhanced with the painted cross back dining chairs.
Uncompromising on size, the four bedroom, four bathroom holiday cottage was converted using only the finest materials and Angela and Brett were very selective over all of their suppliers.

The bespoke bedroom furniture was handmade to Angela and Brett’s specification. A sample piece was taken to Devon along with paint charts and choices of handles. Farrow and Ball Elephant’s Breath and Charleston Gray were selected with pewter handles for the wardrobes and chests with Pointing & All White with solid oak for the bed frames.

All of the four rooms have bespoke bed frames and hotel specification pocket sprung mattresses; three of them with bed frames that were designed to stand alone as twin beds or be zipped together as super-king beds for added luxury. Once we received all of the bespoke and made to order pieces we sent our most experienced delivery team to Devon to ensure all items arrived safely and in perfect condition.

Each item was then unwrapped, assembled where necessary and placed in position as desired by Angela and Brett. We are very proud to be a part of a very well planned and beautifully executed project, we enjoyed it immensely.
